The information we collect from current or prospective employees and contractors may include your name, contact information, place of residence, social insurance number, previous employment history, education record, credit record, and criminal convictions record for which a pardon has not been granted. The information we collect from current or potential customers who are individuals may include your name, contact information, place of residence, credit information or a credit card number, if required.

Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, personal information does not include the name, business title, business address, business telephone of any person, i.e. information on a business card.

We collect information from you when you submit through our site, contact us or subscribe to our blog or mailing list or download our content, a white paper, for example. When submitting information on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, postal code or phone number. When completing the Pre-Approval application, for example, we do ask for a lot more information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously. Like most websites, we use cookies to enhance your experience, gather general visitor information, and track visits to our website. How we use your personal information

Typically, the personal information collected about you depends on whether or not you are an employee/contractor,website visitor or customer of gnooko. If you are a potential or current employee or contractor, the personal information is used by gnooko to initially assess your suitability for employment or contract for services with gnooko. Upon successful hiring or contracting, your personal information may be provided to an outside payroll agency, Group Benefits Company and/or to our accounting department. In these cases, only the information that is necessary to pay you is given to these organizations.

If you are a customer, the personal information may be used to assess your credit worthiness, to enable gnooko to fulfill the goods and services being provided, or to process the payment for these goods and services. If you are a website visitor the personal information may be used to send you the content that you have given us consent to send you, or to contact you with your consent for the information you have requested of us.

Sharing of personal information

If you are a current employee or contractor of gnooko, we may, from time to time, provide other employees and contractors of gnooko with your home telephone number and/or your home e-mail address. In these cases, the information is provided to other employees who may require this information in order to undertake their responsibilities to gnooko and its business contacts. An example of a situation where your personal contact information may be provided is where you are required to provide standby, after hour’s service response to clients.

gnooko’s vendors may require customer information such as name, address and contact information for things such as warranty purposes.

Your consent

If you choose to provide personal information to gnooko, we assume that you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy or otherwise at the time of collection, use or disclosure. gnooko will destroy, erase or render anonymous personal information no longer required for the stated purposes or for a legal or legitimate business requirement.
